Laperruque x Memowa

For nearly 10 years, we have been striving to design objects that are ever more durable, both in their use and in their making.

To us, belt buckles are true pieces of jewelry, among the most widely worn and common. It is with this in mind that we have always been drawn to solid silver buckles. A beautiful silver buckle, even when worn every day, can last a lifetime. Like fine leather, it will develop a graceful patina over time. It embodies, in our eyes, a certain idea of permanence.

It is in this spirit that we imagined a collaboration with our friend Mateo Kitahara, the artisan and designer behind the jewelry brand Memowa, whose work has explored raw solid silver forms for many years.

From this encounter were born two pieces: a slim dress belt in black double-tanned calfskin, paired with a solid silver buckle, and a double-wrap bracelet fastened with a more compact version of the same buckle.

The straps are made by us in our workshop in Pantin, while the buckles are crafted from recycled solid silver in Mateo’s workshop in Montreuil. The entire collection is thus produced on the outskirts of Paris.

These pieces are produced in extremely limited quantities and are designed to last. We are delighted to present this collaboration today, born from a dialogue between leather and silver.
