• Shell in Russian Calf: Full-grain, vegetable-tanned calf leather from J. & F.J. Baker, one of the last British tanneries still using traditional oak bark pit tanning. This legendary leather, infused with birch oil, is naturally water-resistant and carries a distinctive smoky, woody scent that has inspired perfumers. This type of leather was rediscovered in the 1970s in the hold of a shipwreck—perfectly preserved after over a century underwater. It features a cross-hatched grain that resists scratches and develops a rich, nuanced patina over time.
