Rietveld Collection
Artisans whose creations have marked the history of design have always been an important source of inspiration for Laperruque.
This is particularly true of Gerrit Rietveld, the Dutch woodworker turned furniture designer and architect.
In the late 1910s, Gerrit Rietveld was a young craftsman running a woodworking workshop. His creations brought him to the attention and acceptance of the Dutch artistic avant-garde and the De Stijl group of artists, whose best-known figure was the painter Mondrian.

As a translation of the movement’s concepts into furniture, Rietveld adapted and designed a series of resolutely modernist furniture pieces with straight lines and “pure” colors, respecting the principles laid down by De Stijl. The result was one of Rietveld’s most famous pieces, and one of the most famous in the history of industrial design: the red and blue chair.
Unused hides from luxury houses in primary colors enabled us to create an exclusive collection in homage to the Dutch craftsman and architect.
Resolutely different from our usual approach to colors and their associations, this capsule collection, produced in extremely limited quantities, also echoes the colorful, hedonistic fashion of the 90s.
