Cordovan Formal Belt<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well known among fine shoe enthusiasts, cordovan is an exceptional and rare leather with a uniquely deep color. Extremely durable, it has the distinctive characteristic of not creasing when bent\u2014combined with its natural shine and high content of natural oils and waxes, this explains why it is so prized by shoemakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worked on the reverse side (the flesh side rather than the grain), it is taken from a very specific small section of the horse hide and requires more than six months of vegetable tanning, making it particularly rare and costly. Cordovan is hand-dyed and displays subtle color variations. Several tanneries around the world produce their own versions, but the original\u2014made by Horween, located in the heart of Chicago\u2014remains unmatched, and this is the one we have chosen to work with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, we\u2019ve been making our dress cordovan belt to order for a handful of enthusiasts. We now want to make it more widely available by offering it as part of our regular collection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burgundy cordovan\u2014color #8\u2014appears almost dark brown at first glance, but it will reveal lighter, more colorful highlights in the light, making it a particularly versatile option. Its black version also features interesting undertones and a depth of color you won\u2019t find in any other leather.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
